About Andy’s Beer Reviews
Hi, I’m Andy, and this site exists for one simple reason. I like beer, I’ve been drinking it for a long time, and I care about what’s actually in the glass.
Andy’s Beer Reviews isn’t about chasing hype, limited releases, or pretending every beer is life-changing. It’s about honest opinions on beers that real people actually buy and drink, from supermarkets, pubs, and the odd unexpected find.
I started this site as a companion site to my YouTube Beer Reviews channel and because I wanted somewhere else that talked about beer in plain English. No jargon. No overthinking. Just what it tastes like, whether it’s worth your money, and why you might enjoy it.
What you’ll find here
You’ll find reviews covering everything from classic British ales and European lagers to modern IPAs, stouts, and the occasional curveball. Some are well-known names, some are supermarket surprises, and some are beers I simply wanted to understand better.
I don’t score beers to chase clicks, and I don’t pretend personal taste doesn’t matter (because we all have different tastebuds). Every review is based on drinking the beer properly, taking my time with it, and being honest about what works and what doesn’t.
If a beer is great, I’ll say so. If it’s average, I’ll say that too.
Why you can trust these reviews
I’ve been drinking and exploring beer for decades, long before “craft” became a marketing word. I grew up on bitters and lagers, learned to appreciate stronger and darker beers over time, and now enjoy a wide range of styles without getting carried away by trends.
This site reflects that journey. Reviews often include personal context, comparisons, and a bit of memory, because beer is tied to places, people, and moments, not just flavour notes.
I buy the beers myself. I’m not paid for reviews. And I don’t write to please breweries.
Who this site is for
This site is for anyone who enjoys beer and wants an honest take before spending their money. Whether you’re just starting to explore different styles or you’ve been drinking beer for years, you should find something useful here.
If you want loud opinions, endless hype, or technical deep dives, this probably isn’t the place. If you want thoughtful, straightforward reviews from someone who actually enjoys sitting down with a pint, you’re in the right spot.
How to use the site
You can browse by individual reviews, explore beer styles, or dip into round-up posts where I revisit familiar beers and reflect on how they hold up today.
If you ever have a beer you think I should try, or you simply disagree with one of my takes, feel free to get in touch. Beer is always better when it starts a conversation.
Thanks for stopping by
Andy’s Beer Reviews is a personal project, written out of genuine interest and enjoyment. If you find a beer you end up loving because of something you read here, then the site’s doing exactly what it’s meant to do.
Enjoy your beers, take your time with them, and drink what you actually like.
